We currently have 2 internship positions open:
Embedded Software Engineer
The best applicants for this internship will have:
- Experience in low-level programming in C, either as a hobby, in class or in the “real” world
- Demonstrable passion for hardware – like the time you programmed a Raspberry Pi to power your own gaming console, quadcopter or spy camera
Android/ iOS Software Engineer
Interested in cross-platform App design? Cloud programming? Working on a full-stack project? Vale. This is for you. You will gain exposure to Android & iOS (because we have to, not because we love to). The best applicants for this internship will have:
- Experience in programming Android and/ or iOS apps
- Experience with the languages & frameworks we are currently crazy about including Javascript frameworks, e.g., AngularJS, Backbone.js and/ or node.js
- Full Stack Development experience a big plus
All Positions
Notice I did not say “aspiring” engineers. You will be treated like the real deal you are and you will work with the best of the best. You will gain exposure in analyzing hardware for new products, designing component-to-component data interfaces and APIs, designing end-to-end, uni- and bi-directional data transmission protocols and/ or client- and server-side programs. Ultimately, you will deliver a final implementation to spec, on-time and on-budget before we throw you back into the fiery pits of your CS program!
The best applicants for these internships will have/ must be able to:
- Programming experience in C/C++
- Experience in modern scripting languages
- Experience with git
- Know how to tear apart and put back together the Linux kernel- well, not really. But you should know how to drive Linux blindfolded
- Write and speak fluent English
- Knowledge of the fundamental principles of microeconomics, math and physics
New products are IoT related and will provide interns with an opportunity to engage with, and gain unparalleled experience in, this next wave of the technological (r)evolution currently underway. And your programming will save lives- maybe. At the very least, it will be cool and cutting-edge.
